Commonly used on Type IV engines to allow fitment of an external oil cooler (and relocation of oil filter from the stock location). This adaptor screws into place where the oil filter normally sits and provides an outlet and return port for a full flow system. This adaptor is commonly used in some water cooled applications as well.
